Don't have a Farm to Let the Kidlets Loose Once School Is Out?

Like almost every parent, it's a challenge (or a serious struggle) to reorganize the schedule during summer break so the kids and the parents are happy. Here's just a few ideas to hang with the kiddos and be entertained as well . . .especially when you don't have a SMILING COW!

May is quickly coming to an end. This holiday weekend we invite you to escape the heat in Vernon Street Town Square spray ground now open daily 12-7pm (beginning Friday, May 27). The Roseville Aquatics Complex is another great option, this is the opening weekend so stop by 1-5pm, Saturday-Monday. 

Wednesdays (weekly through October) - Wee One Wednesday (Town Square) 

Come play with us! Little ones are invited to enjoy a morning in the park every Wednesday. Each week, new games and activities are ready for tots to enjoy. Ages 5 & under. Free. 10-10:45am

Saturday, June 4 – Fire Department Open House (Fire Station #6 - 1430 E. Roseville Pkwy.) 
Come check out the fire station, learn about Fire Season Safety. Free. 10am-noon (Hosted by Fire Department) 

Saturday, June 4 – Summer Reading Program Kickoff Party (Downtown Library) 
Children, teens and adults get ready to “Read for the Win” with our Summer Reading Program Kickoff Party with puppet art theater. Free. 10am-noon. 

Tuesday, June 7 – Summer Reading Program Kickoff Party (Maidu Library) 
Children, teens and adults get ready to “Read for the Win” with our Summer Reading Program Kickoff Party with Cinderella & Belle storytime. Free. 5:00-7:00pm. 

Thursday, June 9 – Summer Reading Program Kickoff Party (Riley Library) 
Children, teens and adults get ready to “Read for the Win” with our Summer Reading Program Kickoff Party with Music Mike. Free. 10am-noon. 

Thursday, June 9 – Food Truck Mania (Town Square) 
Come to Downtown Roseville for food truck goodness and music on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month. Rain or shine. 5-9pm

Friday, June 17 – Campfires (Maidu Museum & Historic Site) 
Sit under the stars at our outdoor amphitheater to enjoy native stories around the campfire plus marshmallow roasting. Fee: $5/person, $16/family of four, $4 each additional person. Under 2 are free. 7:30pm–8:30pm

Saturday, June 18 – Concerts On the Square: Steel Breeze (Town Square) 
Gates open at 6:30pm, concerts start at 7:30pm. Come on down to enjoy some tasty food truck grub, visit the beer garden and claim your space for the show. No coolers, outside alcohol, glass or animals permitted. Free. 

Saturday, June 18 – Night Out at the Museum (Maidu Museum & Historic Site) 
Enjoy museum exhibits, art receptions and cultural presentations in the Zents Gallery. See contemporary Indigenous Art in our gallery on the second floor. Light refreshments will be available. Free. 6:30-8:30pm

Thursday, June 23 – Food Truck Mania (Town Square)

Saturday, June 25 – Get Energized! (Roseville Utilities Exploration Center) 
Drop by with the whole family for an energy fueled day of excitement and exploration. Find out what your family can do to keep cool in our hot summer sun and how to save money doing it. Free. 10am-2pm (Hosted by Roseville Utilities Exploration Center) 

RCONA is also hosting a number of Movie In The Park events in June and we are taking applications for the following upcoming events: 
4th of July Parade - due June 17th
Holiday Craft Fair - due August 1st

Celebrate and experience California Indian culture during Maidu Museum's biggest event of the year,  Yomen: A Spring Celebration . Watch tribal dancers, basket weavers, and other traditional art & craft demonstrators. Explore the Historic Site with guided tours, every hour. Shop at the craft fair where more than 20 artisans from California tribes will be selling contemporary jewelry, basketry, and other handmade crafts. Children can make a beaded bracelet, create petroglyph rubbings, take part in a scavenger hunt, and pound acorns.   Food & beverages will be available for sale. Free admission and parking.
