Roseville FUN Fact!

Recognize these names? Astill, Fiddyment, Atkinson, Pratt, Sawtell and Dyer? How about Cirby, Doyle and Kaseberg?

For centuries the area around what is now known as Downtown Roseville was home to oak groves and a few groups of Maidu Indians. However, in the first half of the 19th century, some of the adventurers drawn to the California Gold Rush began to settle in the region. Taking advantage of excellent grazing land, early settlers with names like Astill, Fiddyment, Atkinson, Pratt, and Dyer established ranches and raised livestock. Cirby, Doyle and Kaseberg where investors while Sawtell was Roseville's first mayor.

In Contract!

This home is really special. The owner is selling and new homeowners get to take over. Every detail of this home was thought out and designed for family gatherings, space to be and even hosts the perfect classic kitchen. Look close and you will find the back splash is even tiles that appear like wallpaper of the times.

Many years back, the owner had much of Sacramento's land with many of their family homes, a large Olympic sized swimming pool and space for kids to play much larger than most families have today. Now those areas have been sold off over the years and have many other uses and businesses on them. Still remaining in its 50's classic style is this perfectly maintained home with many memories still to be made.

Come One. Come All!

Gifts That Keep on Giving!

Two wonderful things happened today. First, I've been sick these last two days and my wonderful client Lynn had just given me an entire bag of lemons. I've been drinking serious lemon water to get better and the beauty of this was the lemons came from the lemon tree I gave her and her husband as a closing gift last year! What an awesome thing to happen! (not being sick but getting a gift from a gift given!)

Second, the Ayurveda method of getting better is to eat garlic, have lemon water (not just a little, but 1 or 2 lemons squeezed into the cup), and then wrapping yourself in blankets and go to bed. I would have never known this method had it not been for two of my other clients' caring advice last year. Thanks Mohannad and Zulfikar! Recovery was super speedy EVERY time!

Mint, Pomegranate, Cilantro . . . I smell a Farmer's Market!

One of the only farmer's markets still going this time of year happens Tuesdays at the Fountains of Roseville's Whole Foods from 8am to 1pm. There's nothing better than fresh food and then walking indoors to get the final ingredients to complete a great recipe - one you might have just thought up in your head once surrounded by all the amazing produce! That's what happens to me. I'm not the best chef (yet) but working on it! Here's a great recipe for peak February produce!

On another note, if you have kids, Whole Foods has a wonderful guided tour program. My kids came home essentially spouting off Whole Foods facts right and left. They could tell me how the produce section smelled, what each department specialized in, oh . . . and did I know, they even have a cheese wheel and selection of the finest cheeses around! Who would have thought a market could have such an impact on the younger crowd!!!

Folklore Suggests Al Capone to have Founded Local East Sac Bocce Ball Club!

Whether or not Al Capone founded East Sac's Bocce Ball Club at East Portal Park as local legend persists, it's home to one of the nation's most respected bocce ball organizations! It can't get any better than this! Originally the game of Bocce Ball was brought over from the "Old Country". Similar to bowling, its played on a long and narrow court using wooden balls and is the perfect game when socializing with friends.

Don't miss the start of Spring League starting in March. Sign up here.
